- Rate - £55 per hour inside IR35
- Location - Derby 5x per week

This role offers the chance to work on technically demanding programmes while mentoring junior engineers and driving innovation across design processes and methodologies.
Role Responsibilities
- Producing high-quality mechanical designs to customer specifications
- Creating detailed 3D CAD models and manufacturing drawings
- Supporting product development and design improvement initiatives
- Developing innovative engineering solutions to complex technical challenges
- Modifying and refining designs in line with project and customer requirements
- Ensuring designs comply with relevant safety and engineering standards
- Collaborating closely with manufacturing and engineering teams
- Supporting and mentoring junior engineers within the team
- Presenting technical designs and solutions to customers and stakeholders
Skills
- Proven experience as a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer within a highly regulated environment such as defence, nuclear, aerospace, or similar
- Strong understanding of Design for Manufacture principles
- Experience using 3D CAD software such as Siemens NX or equivalent
- Familiarity with PLM systems such as Teamcentre or similar
- Strong knowledge of engineering standards and safety legislation
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
- Engineering qualification in a relevant discipline
