SEN Teaching Assistant – SEN School | Sevenoaks, Kent

Contract: Full-time, term time
The Opportunity A specialist SEN school in Sevenoaks is seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team. The school supports children and young people with a range of complex needs, including Autism (ASC), communication difficulties, and associated learning needs.

The Role As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:
  • Support pupils on a 1:1 or small group basis
  • Assist with the delivery of tailored learning programmes
  • Encourage independence, communication, and social development
  • Support pupils with emotional regulation and behaviour strategies
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and support staff
  • Contribute to a safe, structured, and nurturing learning environment
Candidate Profile We are looking for individuals who:
  • Have experience working with children or young people with SEN (particularly Autism)
  • Are patient, resilient, and adaptable in their approach
  • Have a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
  • Can build strong, positive relationships with pupils and staff
  • Are committed to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing
Ideal Backgrounds Include:
  • Experienced SEN Teaching Assistants
  • Care or support workers transitioning into education
  • Graduates (Psychology, Education, Health & Social Care, Speech & Language) with relevant SEN experience
